IMPORTANT: Permanent Makeup is not recommended if you have certain medical conditions.

Some conditions prevent the procedure, while others need a doctor’s approval. Remember, SMP artists are not medical experts. Consult a doctor for safety if you have these conditions before the procedure. Discuss your situation with your PMU artist in advance.

Examples of contraindications include:

IMPORTANT:
All clients must provide advanced notice if you recently performed laser skin treatments in the procedure area or laser eye surgery.

Multiple sessions required: All permanent cosmeticprocedures are a multi-session process. You must come back for a follow-up visit to complete the procedure. Touch-up visits are scheduled at 6 to 8-week intervals or longer.

Be prepared The initial color intensity of your procedure is to be significantly sharper, brighter, or darker than expected for the outcome. It will take time for this transition based on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates.

Tattoo colors are constant, while skin tones change:  While the color may initially simulate the exact color and tone desired, the color may not always remain a perfect match to your skin tone. This is because tattooed colors are constant, while your skin color will vary depending on exposure to cold, heat, sun, and circulatory changes. For example, if your skin tans and you have a scar camouflage, your surrounding skin will appear darker than the treated area.

Scalp Micropigmentation:

    • Ensure that your scalp is in good condition - no dry skin and no open wounds, etc.
    • Scalp Conditioning: Before a scalp treatment, we recommend conditioning the scalp with  Aquaphor or a good lotion 3x per day for at least one week before the appointment.
      • If moisturizing the scalp is not an option due to the amount of hair on the head, refrain from using shampoo and only wash with conditioner for one week before a scalp procedure.
Proper care following your procedure is necessary to achieve the best results. Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of color is to be expected. The purpose of the touch-up visit is to correct any color or shape issues. Please review the following directions and refer to them as necessary. If during your healing process you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
  1. Keep the Procedure Area Dry:  Do not directly expose your treated area to water, including but not limited to, direct or indirect shower spray, bath, ocean, pool, sweating, or any other liquids, creams, or ointments other than what has been provided for 10 days after the treatment.  Even a small drop of water which seems unimportant, may expand the wound, cause an increased possibility of infections, create excessive scabbing, and can ruin your results.  No sweating (of any kind), gym, yoga, swimming for at least 10 days.  If you continue to work out regularly, your results may heal to a powdered look due to oils that the body produces when it gets heated and sweaty.

  2. The Use of Icepacks:  Icepacks protected with a cloth may be applied as necessary to reduce swelling but only if it’s possible to keep the area dry.  Sleeping slightly elevated helps alleviate swelling sometimes seen in the morning after facial procedures.  Icing for only 3 minutes and five minutes rest alternatively.  Do not use ice packs on lip procedures.

  3. Itchingis Normal:  DO NOT PICK, PEEL, OR SCRATCH the treated area.  Picking or peeling will result in uneven color and will increase your risk of scarring and infection.

  4. Avoid Sun Exposure:  Do not expose your healing skin to direct sun, tanning beds, hot tubs (tub bath if body area treated), saunas, saltwater, chlorinated pools, or extremely hot water for 2 weeks.

  5. Daily Sun Protection:  Use a good sunscreen daily, even the lips require protection. Sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics and may cause irritation even years after a procedure.

  6. Communicate with professionals proactively:  If you are planning chemical exfoliation or other cosmetic medical procedures, please inform the technician or physician of your cosmetic tattoo.

  7. Donating Blood:  Suzukoo Relaxation & Skin Design is a licensed and regulated tattoo operation and therefore the Red Cross and Community Blood Center policies normally allow you to donate after receiving a permanent procedure.  However, we still recommend that you communicate and verify.

Multi-Session Process requiring a minimum of 3-4 sessions to complete.  The amount of sessions required varies per person and is based on skin type, personal habits, and the client's desired outcome.

  • Session 1: Hairline design + the initial layer of density.
  • Session 2: Design adjustments + review of the scalp's ability to retain pigment + installation of 2nd layer of density.  In this session, we identify if we need to be more aggressive in our pigment installation based on the retention from session 1.
  • Session 3: Review session 2 pigment retention + install an additional layer of density.  Schedule additional sessions if necessary to achieve desired results.
  • Additional Sessions: Additional sessions may be required to attain desired results in cases where the client wants to achieve a very dense installation (common for younger people) or if the client has low pigment retention.

NOTE: The outcome of semi-permanent cosmetic procedures is dictated by the canvas (your skin). The better condition your skin is in, the better the final result will be. Very oily, dry, or sun-damaged skin can make it very difficult to achieve a beautiful even result. Mature clients may need an additional one to two weeks of healing for the final results to appear. The better you take care of your skin and protect it from UV rays, the better the outcome and lifespan of permanent cosmetic procedures.
